I've had a lot of people ask me about a real Street Contest and I honestly can't think of where we could actually hold a street contest here in Honolulu. I do have an option for you though. Ron Wilkerson says that 2-Hip is celebrating their 25th Anniversary this year. For those of you who don't know, Ron was a vert god before Mattt and did both the 2-Hip King Of Vert and Meet The Streets contest series' back in the late 80's-mid 90's. In honor of their 25th birfday, they will be holding a Meet The Streets Jam in downtown San Francisco this Summer, although they are trying to have it on Treasure Island under the Bay Bridge. If you can make it out, you will have a good time. Ron knows how to throw a party, and this being their Silver Jubilee it's bound to be a doozie!

Hit The Brakes!!
I get a surprise call from my old man the other day. It seems as though he's in town from Florida and needs a ride from the airport. I go and pick him up and then park my truck behind the shop with his bags in it. While it's there, some people were test riding a moped in the parking lot. Don't ask me why. Just because you can turn a throttle doesn't mean you can hit the brakes! We have a camera behind the shop to catch the action . . .
Damn!

Fish heads, fish heads, rollie pollie fish heads.
Mike "Island" and I along with Marty took the ladies out on a Deep Sea fishing deal. Marty's roommate Eve used to work on the "Maggie Joe" and got us on with a lot of her friends from Cheesecake Factory. Sun up to sun down on very choppy seas made most (12 of 15) toss their cookies. It ended up working out pretty well considering we didn't catch anything until they started "chumming" the waters. Of course we did have to throw the bananas off the boat to get rid of the bad mojo. We brought in 3 Mahi, a Yellowfin Tuna, an Ono and Mels even reeled in a big ass Ulua. Not bad if I do say so myself.
I know my face got burned a bit but check out Marty's feets. Damn!

Stolen Bike!!!
Hey everybody, one of our buddies just got his bike ripped. It's an older S&M RV (Race Version) frame with Crupi hubs and Hoffman Bikes tires. The rear tire is pretty much brand new. The color is Raw with a definite rust spangle and it's a 21" top tube. This is a good friend of ours so if you see it, let us know!!

Streets Of Madness Part III is in the bag.
The big show went down last night at Hooters. Out of 9 teams that signed up, 8 brought in videos. From different estimates there was between 75-100 people there specifically for the event and a bunch of passers-by stalling to check out the movies.
I'd like personally thank our Hooters Girls Donna and Alana. I think they did a great job considering the number of guests. I also want to thank The Shadow Conspiracy, Animal Bikes, Subrosa, Sputnik, Profile Racing, Mutiny and Black Lightning for their help with prizes.
The team that took the whole shebang with Best Overall Video was Exil. The Best Cinematography and Best Soundtrack awards went to The Real OG's. Best Editing went to The Zoo. The Best 5-0 Hassle went to Oh, Snap!. Best Crash was a 2-way tie between Cedric Ahsing from We Don't Give A F@#* and Kyle Nishimuru from Mililani 2. The Best Trick was also a 2-way tie between Wesley from We Don't Give A F@#* and Sean Parker from Team Haole.
Keep your eyes out for the compilation DVD. I'll contact everyone when I get them back. Jeff Cox came out and took pictures and I'll post more when I get them. You should be able to see the whole deal at www.jeffcoxphotography.com.
