Inn @ Expo Square
5:30 in the morning, the fire alarm starts going haywire and one of the sprinklers on our floor blows up. I wanted a wake up call but come on. Now, we're in the dark, no power, packed and trying to juggle races and finding a new hotel. Roland was able to fire up some turkey bacon before the power got cut though. Post more later.

We're all going up to represent BIKEFACTORY/Hale Nui Tattoo and Hawaii at the ABA Grandnationals. I'll try and post up more when we get back. Hopefully, I'll be able to take a few shots and compile a few stories while we're gone.

Verde Edit!
Will and the boys from Verde came through town not too long ago filming for their upcoming video. He sent me this clip to share with all of you. Of course it's been up on his Vimeo for over 6 hours but that's besides the point. I'm gonna post it anyway. You won't see much Hawaii but it gives you a little taste of whats coming from the Verde team.

May es Muy Bueno!
May is turning out to be pretty good for some of our guys in Hawaii. Brandon Fugett turned 21 and got to drink his first legal at Hooters at 12:01am. For those that aren't in the know, that's him in the middle.
A couple of hours later we start getting emails about his picture being in Dig BMX #76. Rob Dolecki was in town a while back and liked what we were doing so showed us some love. Plus he caught an excellent shot of Brandon doing a lookback fakie. Nice.
Marty finally got in the first portion of his electric bikes and is just about ready to start riding them all over Waikiki. And whatever you might say about him, Jimbo just met the woman of his dreams . . .

Last 7 LTF Tiki Frames Left!
we've got 7 (seven) 20.75" left!
S& M Bikes in collaboration with Nui Art projects hardly presents The Limited Edition LTF Hawaii frames. Only 50 frames were made, since Hawaii is the 50th state, it made sense at some point to do just 50. Available in clear coat with different sizes to choose from. The Hawaii LTF features a Tiki engraved headtube with it's mouth as a bottle opener. Drinking just got that much cooler, I mean BMX just got that much cooler. The frame will be $420*, straight up, or HIGH depending on how you look at it. This will cover our costs, shipping, and also be able to kick down some funds for Stephen Murray, Mike Vincent, Mikey Aitken, Jimmy Levan, and the Athlete Recovery Fund. First come, first serve.
I feel Hawaii is about family and taking care of each other, BMX should be the same way. I've rode for 25 years now and it's a huge part of my life and the people who surround and support me feel the same way. Many riders have come to visit Hawaii and have felt the ALOHA. The graphics are a spin off from one of the original Hawaiian flags. Govern yourself, be who you want, ride anything and everything, live ALOHA!
We are taking orders through my paypal account, bigisland@shootsbrah.com. E-mail me the size frame you want, your phone number, your e-mail address, and / or Paypal account. If we still have it in stock, i will send you an invoice through Paypal.com.. We will give you 24 hours to pay it, then we ship it straight to you. First come, first serve. As of now 7 (seven) 20.75" are still available. Shoots and Mahalo for your support, Big Island.
*International orders are a little more for shipping.

Verde BMX BBQ
So I've been lagging about posting an update on the Verde crew coming out and partying with us while in town. Will Stroud sent me a couple of shots so I might as well post 'em. Unfortunately the guys were in town filming for an upcoming video and taking some pictures documenting the trip so some of the crazy shit can't be posted yet. I will say that Dave Thompson can boost insanely high out of our little quarter and Kevin Kiraly flaired it. Not to mention the fact that Brian Yeagle is a pretty good skater. The guys at Verde even jumped in to help out with the Streets Of Madness contest this weekend. All around good dudes.

Streets Of Madness #5!, Already? Hell Yeah!!
Y'all ready for 'dis? We will be running the contest just like last year. Everybody shows up at 8:00am on March 6th at Kaka'ako Waterfront Park. Teams are limited to between 3 and 5 riders, period. Keep your guest appearances to a minimum. Videos are between 5 and 10 minutes . . . again, period. Everyone will meet up at Hooter's in the Aloha Tower Market Place on Sunday, March 7th at 8:00pm. Please be on time. I'd prefer to not keep the Hooters Girls there any later than we absolutely have to. I have a stopwatch and I'll be stopping the videos at 10 minutes so the pretty ladies can go home. If you have any questions, please contact us through duane@shootsbrah.com.

United in Hawaii Part 2
So, last night we had the little BBQ at BIKEFACTORY Waipio with the boys from United Bike Co. I'm pretty sure that a good time was had by all. I know I got a little loose.
We even brought out Jeff's trusty old Hutch Trickstar for Ian to play around on. Age is just a number . . . that bike is over 20 years old!
The boys are filming for their upcoming video "This Is United". That means we should have a bit of Hawaii in the video. Nice. I can't wait to see footage of Corey Martinez drifting the Mod!
Big thanks to Azalea for taking so many great shots and sending these to me. I'm gonna hit up her site and steal some more and post them here a little later on.
By the way, I know there are quite a few people out there that wanted to come out but couldn't make it to Waipio. Well, we're bringing the party to Honolulu next Sunday at 6:00pm. 740 Ala Moana Blvd. See you there!
